At Brightside we’re well known for consistently good quality, modern real ales, but like many brewers we wanted to explore more; find out what would happen if we changed our methods, used fruit or spices, tried our hand at brewing continental styles. After a lot of talking, scribbling and initial design work we realised that the beers we wanted to brew were a complete break from Brightside and that they would probably attract quite a different crowd, so we got to work on our recipes and found a designer who lived in a greenhouse to help us get Wildside’s message across.
The plan with Wildside is to brew a batch of beer, release it into the wilderness then move on to the next so that we’re always giving you new things to discover and enjoy. Beers might be stronger, hoppier, brewed with fruit or spice, brewed with new yeasts, barrel aged; always different to Brightside and what has come before.
There will inevitably be rebrews eventually, but the hope is that they’ll be welcomed back as returning friends.
